Pergolas Contract
Inspired by the elegance of the great European palaces, the Hotel Russia in Tiraspol (Moldova) is a reality that expands and innovates the concept of business hotels. Refined design and care in the design of each environment have made this four-star hotel an exclusive location not only for those who stay there, but also for residents, who can enjoy the delicious international cuisine offered by the three restaurants of the structure; often the protagonists of luxurious receptions.
It is precisely the frequent demand for the organisation of weddings, refreshments and soirées that has led Hotel Russia to consider a renovation of its exterior, converting the large private courtyard into an exclusive open-air lounge. The ambitious project involved the creation of a wooden patio to be positioned in the centre of the paved courtyard: a generously sized structure, made even more welcoming by the inclusion of pretty flowerbeds and a suggestive fountain with water and light effects.
The choice of the roof is therefore fundamental, able to give the new environment a refined and airy look – in line with the style of the hotel – and at the same time guarantee impeccable protection from the sun and the weather. A twofold necessity that prompted the owners to turn to Pratic, whose experience and flexibility in creating projects that are always made to measure has made it possible to create a solution of great scenic impact, in which design and functionality are inextricably linked.
Eleven Nomo pergolas have been chosen to furnish and protect the hotel’s characteristic dehors through an asymmetrical and original composition, specifically designed to create an alternation between covered and uncovered spaces. The light and minimalist aluminium structures have been placed side by side with great precision in order to obtain not only a workmanlike installation, but also the perfect functioning of the tilting eaves that allow rainwater to drain off under the wooden platform.
In fact, Nomo is the Pratic pergola that, with its waterproof PVC cloth, offers spaces of pure comfort, which can be enjoyed even in the rain. On sunny days, on the other hand, the covering allows the light to penetrate, setting back to occupy a minimum amount of space and thus allowing the shading of the area below to be modulated; the latter is also regulated by the Raso vertical awnings installed along the entire perimeter of the structure.
Of particular importance, during the design, was the choice of colour. Thanks to the wide Pratic palette, Hotel Russia was able to reproduce the typical colours of its rooms also on the outside: a warm Corten for the aluminium structure and a bright ivory for the PVC covering. New shades emerge in the evening, when the pergolas are tinged with the colours of the Led Line lighting, positioned on the perimeter of each Nomo module. Easily adjustable in intensity and colour, this detail gives great versatility to the new patio which, with a simple gesture, changes its look: from an elegant setting for receptions to a cocktail bar with a glamorous and soft atmosphere.
