Open air, with a continuous architectural movement

A border conceived to vanish. It is the principal that guides the project signed by Studio Gest for Villa Tree, a refine contemporary residence nestled between the Lugano’s lake hilltops. Here, the space in and outdoor is developed by a continuous dialogue, permeable, without visual or material interruptions: a natural architectonic extension, thought to be lived everyday thanks to Pratic’s bioclimatic Vision pergola’s design.

Matter, colour, light: a unique language

Developed as an area overlooking the dwelling, the living open air overlooks the swimming pool area and the lacustrine landscape, actually prolonging the living room located at the ground floor and distinguished by an all-view glass wall extending for over 16 meters.

The perfect continuity between the spaces is assured by a careful material planning and details: the stone pavement runs without interruptions from the inside to the outside, just like the wooden planks an the metallic finishes, coordinated with the house’s language. Also the Vision pergola, varnished in Pratic’s factory to obtain a custom-made grey shade, it takes up exactly the window fixtures’ colour and of each metallic element in the villa. In a similar way, the lamps chosen for the external illumination replicate the intensity and the chromatic temperature of the interiors, contributing to the overall perceptive harmony.

Essential coverage, perfectly integrated

The outdoor space shapes up to be a welcoming cocoon at around 53 meters squared, located between the villa and the property’s boarder walls, the latter is characterized by a slightly diagonal development. Here the Vision pergola has been installed with great precision by the reseller Arte Casa Living of Lugano. The configuration backed against the wall has been obtained by custom madre anchors, made of boards with increased diameter: a solution which optimise the resistance and avoids resorting to a non-necessary row of pillars, contributing to a minimal effect. The structure is indeed sustained by struts positioned on the opposite side and completely integrated into the vertical vegetation, in such a way as not to modify the dehors’ aesthetic balance and to allow contemporaneously the drainpipe located on the ground to function.

The coverage with sunshades blades in aluminium, adjustable from zero to 140 degrees, allows to modulate light, ventilation and temperature in a natural manner, depending on the weather and the time of the day. A controllable system operated by remote control and wind sensors, fully integrated in the villa’s home automation.

The everyday life moves outdoor

Thanks to the blades’ customizable orientation, the pergola assures a pleasant constant airflow, which optimises comfort in a space otherwise underexploited: a shaded area for most of the day, if not when the sun is at the zenith. The addition of a Vision has transformed its use, giving back a refined environment, capable of accommodating and amplifying the everyday life.
Today this new living hosts an external equipped kitchen, a wide dining room and a lounge area, becoming the villa’s convivial heart in the warm season. Lived with naturalness during the day, the dehors shifts during the evening into a welcoming and discreet, from which you can enjoy with the maximum comfort the extraordinary view over the lake.
