Managing light as precisely as crafting a detail: that’s the challenge taken up at AMF’s new headquarters in Bassano del Grappa – a leading company in the production of metal accessories for fashion – here Pratic stepped in by shading the large glass walls with 114 T-Box Cables vertical awnings.
The factory comes as a rectangular-shaped volume, following the north-south axis. The offices face north, whereas the production departments are grouped on two levels at the heart of the production site, overlooking an inner courtyard where the glass walls light up the production lines. Here comes the project requirement: any shape and finish must be assessed with care, the quality of lighting conditions the perception of objects and the entire production cycle, thus making it necessary to measure out the light intensity without ever compromising the performances.
The task was carried out to perfection by Pratic T-Box Cables vertical awnings, perfectly blending with the project by the architect Paolo Dal Sasso. On behalf of Mubre Costruzioni S.r.l., the Pratic dealer, BASE S.p.A. of Bassano del Grappa, designed the whole project and the installation of the envelope of facades and fixtures, including the installation of solar shadings on the east and west sides.
Thanks to compact aluminium housing, T-Box Cables protects the front profile and the retracted awning; the automated sliding mechanism operates along stainless-steel cables. This configuration allows the large dimensions required by the project to be achieved – up to 2.70 x 4.60 metres, alongside sizes such as 1.30 x 4.50 metres – for a total screening area of 785 square metres, distributed across offices, the laboratory and production departments.
The design embraces a minimalist aesthetic: the aluminium boxes have been integrated directly into the structure of the glazed façades, concealed within the transom and flush with the prefabricated panel. The RAL 7016 grey finish and the fire-retardant screen fabric in anthracite complete the harmony with the façade.
Motorized by Somfy systems and integrated into the company’s home automation system, the T-Box Cables awnings provide thermal comfort, energy savings and the right level of privacy in the rooms overlooking the courtyard: the same attention to detail that AMF devotes to its creations, applied here to lighting.
