To meet solar covering needs, “La Loggia degli Artisti” Bed&Breakfast has choosen Italian design and high technology of Pratic’s Vision bioclimatic pergola— one of the first Italian companies that produces awnings, pergolas, and design structures. A few kilometers away from Adriatic Sea and deep in the green countryside of southern Friuli, the Loggia degli Artisti is the result of a restoration of a building of the ‘60s. For this project, focus has been placed on organization and outdoor furniture, in order to allow guests to enjoy the great view and benefits of open-air life in any weather condition and at any time of the day. The choice of a proper solar covering has been strategic both in regards to protection against atmospheric agents and emphasis of the essential characteristics of the building. Perimeter walls have been minimized in order to give more space to the large glass windows, offering a 360° view.
Vision bioclimatic pergola by Pratic has therefore turned out to be the best solution, thanks to its aluminum structure with small size profiles. A perfect integration with the context where the natural landscape seems to enter into the interior spaces thus contributing to preserve the original stylistic choice. The need of shade has been satisfied thanks to the special aluminum shading blades that can run 140 degrees and assume a variable slope, thus allowing the modulation of light intensity coming from the outside at will. Protection is guaranteed even in case of rain, since blades close and rainwater is conveyed to perimeter gutters and downpipes integrated with the structure. Vision bioclimatic pergola is designed to have natural temperature control inside thus guaranteeing absolute comfort thanks to air recirculation; an additional value that perfectly matches the well-being state that pervades the building, taking advantage of geothermic energy and thermal water that flows at 31 degrees.
Solidity and Robustness have been fundamental in the choice of this Pratic structure of remarkable size – 8 meters long– that guarantees perfect stability even in the presence of strong breezes coming from the nearby sea. Vision belongs to the Bioclimatic Planet line that Pratic has created in order to meet the requirements of bioclimatic architecture, discipline that enhances and respects the environment, by reducing pollution, creating spaces characterized by thermic comfort and by reducing maintenance interventions.
