Panoramic design among the hills of Lake Iseo
Nestled amongst the Brescian hills of Lake Iseo, a contemporary-style villa affords breathtaking views. Designed to dialogue with the horizon, the residence features a one-level layout with large glass walls and an unusual mezzanine floor. Outside, masterfully designed green terracing gently drives the view towards the lake: an eye-catching effect further amplified by the asymmetrical roof that, like a telescope, points towards the blue Iseo, thus creating a deep and sheltered portico that invites you to spend time outdoors.
Comfort and functionality in the shade of the pergola Carrera
Being exposed to the beauty of natural sunlight from dawn to dusk, this charming outdoor space needed effective shading on its zenith plane and along its perimeter, to further improve its functionality and comfort. All this according to the building’s essential aesthetics and maintaining the view from the living area.
Here, the Pratic’s pergola Carrera has rationalised in a single structure of 35 square meters the owners’ open-air living demands by creating a refined shaded area that elegantly extends beyond the porch in a specular way to the adjoining infinity pool. A customised project realised by reseller Lo Scantinato and the architecture studio Arch. Dario Gheza & Arch. Diana Gheza Esine hand in glove with the owners, who took care of every detail.
A protected space, designed for well-being
Carrera’s single free-standing module has been conceived to be wall mounted, thus becoming a natural extension of the villa itself. The posts placed approximately one meter forward of the rear perimeter are perfectly aligned with window frames allowing smooth passage from the indoors to the outside of the pergola even when the concealed awnings Raso are rolled down. These latter indeed shade the room beneath on the front and west side while protecting it from wind and intense sunrays and therefore improving natural temperature indoors. Besides that, the ornamental curtains Drapes on the east facade – carefully matched – provide extra elegance and privacy.
Overlapping blades and modular lighting
The covering is unique, too. Carrera consists of fixed and sliding sunshade blades, which lift and slide one over the other until they are perfectly overlapped. Domotic systems allow for their operation as well as that of the vertical awnings to adjust shading degree, sunlight and natural air circulation as desired.
Moreover, the spotlights placed on the fixed blades provide refined light points beneath the pergola, which can be further equipped with dimmable Led Line with RGB colours in order to highlight the pergola’s perimeter. As a result, a soft light, ideal to enjoy the outdoor space even at night, accompanied by a pleasant breeze coming from the Lake.
A dehors taking account of landscape and environment
With its bright white shades and sleek design, Carrera perfectly merges into the villa’s unique architecture and is totally reversible. No ground anchoring was needed for the installation, but rather the flooring has been preserved by using wide planters that decorate the area and at the same time ballast the posts. Low landscape impact combined with low environmental impact: Carrera – like all other solar shading systems from Pratic’s array – is made of renewable raw materials, that can be sorted and recycled at the end of their life cycle. The coating process is also carried out by using safe components both for humans and environment, ensuring superior resistance to UV rays, moisture, and salt. As a result, it is a sophisticated and durable outdoor space.
